So I’ve have read the slides, but they just provide the skeleton of your thinking. Any chance your presentation was recorded? Having seen similar ventures, I’d like to hear how your vision differs. I guess my burning question is how do you hope to get teachers committed to this “shared” approach versus merely being compliant?

  • Not recorded it was more of a conversation. The approach was aimed at seeing if there was interest in not only working across schools but across districts if not across states.

I suspect the commitment will come by appealing to teacher’s moral purpose and inherent commitment to students. Ultimately we need to do what is best for students not necessarily what is more convenient for adults. I see an intersection between the two, but the idea of lateral innovation is to move forward much faster than our current hierarchical systems allow by leveraging common purpose across traditional organizational boundaries.
